I appreciate that sometimes that just isn’t what people want to hear.
Here’s the problem: receiving praise without any real justification feels nice, but it won’t get you anywhere…
Fair enough, maybe I should make more of an effort to sandwich my negative feedback with two compliments… And maybe it is time that I embraced this whole praise culture thing - you know, where everyone should get a medal just for showing up… And maybe I could let standards slip a little…
Or maybe we could reach a compromise?
I will do my best to communicate the good with the bad, and YOU acknowledge that results matter and do YOUR best to view any feedback - positive or negative - as a guide; something that lights your path to better movement, health and fitness, rather than emotional abuse or just another boring conversation about why you need to adjust your technique even though you still totally made the lift…
