“Do I Have To Do The Mobility?”

It may well be normal for you to squat and pull heavy, rep out on pull ups and handstand press ups and just generally walk around like a f***ing beast, but it’s also helpful to be reminded that these functional movements are very demanding and stressful.

Stress is good; it’s the stimulus for growth and improvement. Functional movements are good; they’re vital for a healthy body and mind, but this all comes with a price...

Regular exposure to demanding and stressful movements, no matter how healthy and vital they are, requires a practice to help maintain your stressed and burdened body, no matter how strong and heroic you are... Foam rollers, acupressure mats, soft tissue work, massage, stretching - these aren’t just for broken people, they are for people who move… They are for people who regularly perform impressive feats; they are for people who grab life by the balls; they are for people who lead the life of a f***ing beast.
